What are the steps to becoming a Partner Family with Habitat for Humanity, Knox County, IL?
Step 1: Complete the online basic information application form and sign and return the Authorization to Conduct a Credit and Background Check form to the Habitat office.
Step 2: Your application is pre-screened for eligibility and forwarded to our Family Selection Committee.
Step 3: Family Selection Committee conducts and an in-home visit.
Step 4: Complete the Partner Family Application and return it to Habitat.
Step 5: The Family Selection Committee conducts a thorough review of your application. Including but not limited to interviews, reference checks, additional in-home visits, background and credit checks. Note: It is normal for a family to have to provide additional information.
Step 6: Once their work is completed our Family Selection Committee may recommend you to the Habitat Board for final review and approval as our next partner family.
Step 7: The Habitat Board approves you as the next partner family. Congratulations! The work has just begun.
